Frog Rock (2023)

My lyrical inspiration for this album was based on a time when Alison and I first met. We camped at an Army Corps campground along Route Triple Six in Kelletville, PA. We invited four friends on the trip as well. It was there that a local person told us about the large green painted stone in the waters of the Tionesta Creek. We journeyed along the highway to find this hidden secret. Sure enough, beyond the tree line, in the waters below, we found Frog Rock.

Happy Noises (2015)

Upon arriving home one day from work, Alison was cheerfully describing our 1 year old son's vocal attempts as "Happy Noises." That became the title of an album of my reflections and commentary on being a father. It is also an expression of love for my family. As my children grow older, I hope they look back at these songs and smile with the gratitude of having a father that loves them very much.

The Ego Confuses Love With Other Things (2014)

Recorded entirely at The First Unitarian Church of Youngstown (UUYO), this album's lyrics are a total mixed bag. Starting with the philosophical title track, the gentleness of "How I Feel About You Now", the honest and raw "Foolish Pride", a song about a social worker girl, more philosophical stuff with "There's Nothing Easy About Love" and even a song about my mom, "Elaine"

Dreaming (2014)

No link for this album's lyrics because it's completely instrumental. This is a great album to put on if you're meditating or just need to relax. The song titles offer some clues to the emotions I was trying to evoke.

Not Yet Perfect (2013)

The debut album for Jonny Locomotive & The Engineers features as you would expect, many love songs but there are also tracks like "When You've Had A Bad Day" and "I Wanna Be A Bob Dylan" (title had to be modified to "Long Way to Go" for digital distribution) plus the title track, "Not Yet Perfect" which pines for a day when everything is perfect, but which will also be the end of the world because what would the point of anything be then? Not Yet Perfect is also my way of accepting my songwriting/performances for what they are. Getting it out there into the world, perfect or not.

The Youngstown Tramps (2008)

Although, not a Jonny Locomotive album, this is one I am very proud of and since the band is no more I am including it here. The following lyrics were written by me, "Eddie Loves Debbie", "Jack Kerouac", "Wonderful Thing", "Bedtime" and "No Goodbyes". The song "Doin' Alright" was co-written with Lori Ann Shelby (Hoelzel) and "Movement" with Ian Simon.
