Happy Noises

by Jon Locketti

“Boy and Girl”

Boy and girl

Girl and boy

I am the luckiest

I am the luckiest

Boy and girl

Girl and boy

Come to me smiling

Come to me smiling

Boy and girl

Girl and boy

Something comes through to me

Emotions so true to me

Held you in my arms from day one

Looked at your beautiful face

Kissed your cheek

Whispered your name

As the seasons change

You continue to grow

Amaze me you do

Suppose you will continue to

Sweet boy

Darling girl

I am the happiest

I am the happiest

“Baby Utopia”

Swing, suck, sleep on your side Baby Utopia

Sshhhh, swaddle, I don't want a bottle Baby Utopia

Ch: Sleep and eat and giggle a little I'm amazed by everything

Hold me, talk to me

I'm in love with everything

Mama's milk, Daddy's smile

Don't leave me

Mommy and Daddy

Don’t leave me

Baby Utopia

“Happy Noises, Pt. 1”

The snow falls down and drifts on the wind

The Dogwood branchesvare looking thin

A child inside is happy and warm

A mother rejoices; a child is born

The sun shines brightly into the room

The wind chimes ring in the afternoon

A child is playing on the floor

A mother busy doing chores

The moment is imminent unknown to her

The child cannot formulate a word but...

Out come those happy noises

Making such happy sounds

Spilling out like endless rain

Awesome and true

Opening up

To let it come through (x2)

Traditions formed fifty years ago

Continue and outside is snows

Bake from morning until the night

Something about it just feels right

Family together for the holiday

Everyone is there to stay

Kids play in the room upstairs

Mother in the kitchen hard at work

The moment is imminent unknown to her

The child cannot formulate a word but...

Out come those happy noises

Making such happy sounds

Spilling out like endless rain

Awesome and true

Opening up

To let it come through (x10)

“Blue Eye Baby Boy Blues”

My blue eyed baby boy He's my pride and joy

My blue eyed baby girl

To me she means the world

And I tell ya

My green eyed lovely wife

I love for it

That’s for the rest of my life

Blueberry eyes

Give them to you my child

Blueberry soul

Give them to Nina and Joel

And I tell you

My green eyed lovely wife

They start out green

As your eyes

My blue eyed baby boy He's my pride and joy

My blue eyed baby girl

To me she means the world

And I tell ya

My green eyed lovely wife

I love for it

That’s for the rest of my life

"Pinwheels"

Pinwheels to penguins

We’re celebrating

Your life one year at a time

The milestones are many

Good and plenty

Happiness beaming from inside

Walkin’, talkin’

Singin’ swingin’

There’s nothin’ you won’t be able to do

I love you always

You are my baby

I love you always

From one to three

You’ve been a blessing to me

To your mother and everyone else

Cannot wait to see

Who you’ll turn out to be

Guess I’ll just have to wait until that time

Walkin’, talkin’

Singin’ swingin’

There’s nothin’ you won’t be able to do

I love you always

You are my baby

I love you always

“Your Dad’s Guitar”

I’ll play all my songs

On your dad’s guitar

He’d probably like them

He’d probably come out to my shows

I’ll take really great care

Of your dad’s guitar

Keep in good climate

Keep it safe in a case when it’s not being played

When I first played his guitar

Was when I first met you

It was in a tattered case

And out of tune

But it always sounded good

Had rich history I knew

I’ll strum strongly and on time

On your dad’s guitar

Hoping someone here’s me

Hoping someone get what I’m trying to say

I’ll drive for miles on the road with your dad’s guitar

Give it to one of our kids

Hope they take care of it

When I first played his guitar

There was a stuffed penguin in the case

That our daughter one day adopted

As her favorite stuffed animal

It was as if it was a gift to her

Straight from your father

I’ll play all my songs on your dad’s guitar

He’d probably have liked them

He’d probably have come out to my shows

“The World and the Child”

There is nothing so sweet as the smile of a child

Our lives are short we're only here for awhile

If we blink, we might miss all the blessings we should save

In the fire burning bright in our mental cave

How many sons and daughters have born?

To this life with limits we must fit the form

If we blink, it's over before we start

With a fire still burning within our hearts

It’s not fair (x3)

Clouds bright from the sun shining behind

Children laugh and make each other smile

What a gift to be here for today

Hope I’m here for another and another

Room dark and silent and breath can be heard

Child is sick and in danger of worse

If we blink we can lose what’s precious today

Hope you’re here for another and another and another and another……..

“Amazing Little People”

Never imagined they’d be such amazing

Amazing Little People

Never imagined they’d be such amazing

Amazing Little People

They’re just learning how to be

Looking for guidance from you and me

Always saying look at me

Wanting attention

Undivided

Never imagined they’d be such amazing

Amazing Little People

Never imagined they’d be such amazing

Amazing Little People

She says I want to be

All of the numbers, Daddy

I said let’s start at one

I hope that you go on and on

Never imagined they’d be such amazing

Amazing Little People

Never imagined they’d be such amazing

Amazing Little People

“Friendly Dictator”

Boy loves to learn new things

Makes such happy noises

Comes and goes comes back again

Always moving faster

Phone rings, dad picks up

Life is full of choices

Says hello

Misses a moment

Which could have been avoided

Don’t you want it all now?

Don’t you want to know how?

Don’t you want to run to the end

And come back again, somehow? Somehow

Don’t you love how it sounds

When your feet hit the ground?

Don’t you want to run to end

And come back again somehow? somehow

Girl loves her grandmother

Play in the dirt all day

Learns to work in the hot sun

Never tire of the flame

Call her the friendly dictator

Happy but she needs so much

The way we’re all born

Happy to be loved and warm

It’s the way it always was

Don’t you want it all now?

Don’t you want to know how?

Don’t you want to fight

So our kids don’t live in a world

With the terrible things we see now?

Don’t you love how it sounds

When your feet hit the ground?

Don’t you want to fight

So our kids can live in a world

Better than, the stuff we see now?

“Happy Noises, pt. 2”

Happy as the day is long

Happy just to sing my song

Out from my mouth it comes

I never knew I could do that, hmm?

Happy just to be alive

Daddy works from 9 to 5

When he gets home his baby girl brightens up the day

With those happy noises

Happy as the day is long

Happy just to sing my song

Out from my mouth it comes

Never thought I could do that, hmm?

Happy just to be alive

Daddy works from 9 to 5

When he gets home his baby boy brightens up the day

With those happy noises

Everyone enjoys them

With the sounds warm as the sun’s rays

Happy noises

Everyone rejoicing

For the sound that he just made today
